Open Source Networking: From Telco to Enterprise - Neela Jacques, OpenDaylight Project

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Open Source and Open Standards are inspiring and enabling new technological breakthroughs, with groups such as OpenDaylight, OPNFV, ONF, ETSI and others pioneering the way forward. Carriers and enterprises are increasingly asking for their vendors to deliver solutions based on open source and open standards with varying results. The industry is clearly going through a major transition, with critical questions having been answered (such as the need for multiple protocols) but a number of important new ones being raised (such as the role policy and intent, how to scale out logically centralized control, and the evolving role of OpenFlow).

OpenDaylight Executive Director Neela Jacques will give an overview of the current state of open source networking and the emergence of OpenDaylight as the de facto standard for SDN and NFV, how it’s evolved from its roots in the telecom space.
